Open Water Diver Course
Nha Trang Scuba diving center offer both PADI and SSI Open Water Diver Course
This is the first level of diving certification – your ticket to exciting adventures in the underwater world. This license enables you to dive to a depth not to exceed 18 meters with a buddy who is also a certified diver, at 100% of all diving destinations in the world!
What’s involved?
The SSI and PADI Open Water Diver courses will teach you the basic skills of scuba diving. The focus is on diver safety, but yet is also designed to make sure that you have fun at the same time. It is broken down into academic sessions, skill development, confined water (swimming pool) and 4 dives which are all taken at your own pace.
What do I need to start?
Be at least 10 years old and be able to swim.
Vinadiving provides all equipment, boat trips, lunch, etc., for the duration of the course. We can lend you the SSI Manual for all SSI Courses but the PADI Manual is included.

How long will it take?
Typically, the course takes between three to four full days, but rest assured, we will not rush you through the program. Because the course is performance based, you will have plenty of time to practise your new skills prior to certification.
Three day of the Open Water Diver Course
Day 1:
8h00 Classroom: Introduction and three sections of the PADI Open Water DVD. Three mini quizzes to accompany the DVD, equipment explanation and assembly.
14h00Swimming Pool: Swim test (200metres) and ten minutes float. Confined water skills conducted in a safe environment.

Day 2:
7h30 – 13h30: You will be collected from your hotel and taken to the harbor where you will board the S boat and head out to Mun Island for your first 2 dives. On the way out to the island your instructor will brief you on the first dive of the day. They will also tell you about the dive site that you will be visited, and the conditions that you can expect to find there. Nervous, don’t be. Remember your instructor is there to answer any questions and to help with any concerns that you might have.
After your second dive, we will back to the boat for LUNCH. You will probably find that you are hungry after your dives as diving burns a lot of calories, so we are going to feed you a full cooked lunch on the boat. After lunch, it is time to back to the harbour and drop you off at your hotel.

Day 3:
7h30 – 13h30: Begin the same as second day, but you will be completed your final 2 dives of the course. You should be pretty confident in yourself by now, so relax and enjoy your dives.
Afternoon: Classroom Review Knowledge reviews from the open water manual. Final exam (50 multiple choice question), and complete all paperwork.

Get 75% in this multiple choice exam & then you”ll then be certified as an Open Water Diver which will entitle you to dive at all the wonderful places you could ever imagine down to a maximum depth of 18 meters!
Now what?
After successfully completing the Open Water Diver programme, you”ll be issued with your Open Water Diver certification card. This internationally recognised credential is your ticket to the diving world. You may also want to continue your dive education with an Advanced course to allow you to explore more dive opportunities.
